New TV Spot, “Obama,” Will Air in Critical Miami Market to Increase Voter Turnout
Tomorrow, Mike Bloomberg’s Independence USA PAC will begin airing a new ad, “Obama ,” calling on voters in Miami to vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. Drawing from his recent remarks at a drive-in rally in Miami, the ad shares President Barack Obama’s message that Joe Biden has the “character and experience to make us a better country.”
While voting is up across Florida, in Miami-Dade County voter turnout is not as high as expected. In an effort to increase voter turnout in Miami, in particular among young voters, Black voters, and low-frequency Democratic voters, Independence USA PAC is airing this :30 second ad tomorrow through Election Day in the Miami market.
Using footage from his recent rally in Miami, the ad quotes President Obama who says:
“Miami, I’m asking you to remember what this country can be. For eight years, I saw Joe up close. He made me a better president. He’s got the character and experience to make us a better country. And he and Kamala are going to be in the fight, not for themselves, but for every single one of us.
So let’s get to work, Florida. Let’s bring this home.”
“Miami-Dade is a county with a high percentage of Democratic voters, and it is urgent that we get as many to the polls as possible,” said Kevin Sheekey, advisor to Mike Bloomberg. “I hope that people in Miami understand the important role they will play in determining this election and hear President Obama’s direct call. Miami needs to show up and vote for Joe Biden.”
This is part of Mike Bloomberg’s commitment to spend $100 million in Florida to support Vice President Joe Biden in defeating Donald Trump through Independence USA as well as other Democratic groups through advertising and a strong ground game to get out the vote. Independence USA PAC’s ads are running daily statewide through Election Day across all ten Florida media markets and are geared towards both persuasion and mobilization in support of Vice President Joe Biden in defeating Donald Trump.
